While working in a lawyer’s office, Kay crossed paths with Sue on many an occasion. Having decided a small rental property would be a good investment in one’s back pocket in 1995, Kay naturally turned to Sue for help.
Some 20 years later, Kay made another call to Sue not about real estate investing, but rather a little closer to home. Age and health reasons had caught up with Kay and John making it necessary for them to downsize from their Langley home on acreage to a townhouse.
" Sue conducted herself with the utmost professionalism and guided us through the process of selling our home which included downsizing, staging, having a professional photo shoot, and choosing the best time to place our family home on the market. Every step along the way, Sue was there - offering suggestions. Our home sold in 4 days!! Sue and Dan did their due diligence and went the extra mile for us. They also knew exactly how to narrow down our search for a townhome by area and house features to meet our aging needs. They did a marvelous job for us from start to finish. We highly recommend them. "
When Joyce contacted Sue from Taipai, by way of an email, about residential homes in the Walnut Grove area - Sue had no idea if Joyce was serious. Sue would only hear years later that Buddha had a hand in guiding Joyce and her husband to her.
But that’s getting ahead of this great introduction. It was only after numerous Skype calls back and forth – in Joyce’s rather broken English – that Sue and Joyce met in person. Sue picked up Joyce and Joyce’s mother-in-law from the Travelodge in downtown Vancouver in October 2010 and found the home that her family lives in today. These soon-to-be permanent residents to Canada, would call upon Sue and Dan – in much improved English – to help them enter the commercial real estate market a few years later.
" Sue and Dan will do their best for you. Any question you have, they find the answer to help you make knowledgeable suggestions. They are professional and are able to guide you to a peaceful resolution where the seller and the buyer can be friends. This is amazing to have, considering what business transactions in real estate are like in Taipai. I am grateful for Sue believing in me, with my limited English, at a time when I truly needed someone to look out for my interests. Today we call each other friends. "
Settled in an older character home that they remodeled in Pitt Meadows, Jessica and her husband Antonio dreamed of owning a hobby farm. Unfamiliar with acreage properties, Jessica and Antonio knew they needed a REALTOR® to guide them.
Dan came highly recommended by her parents having helped Jessica’s mother and father with real estate dealings in the past and being a long-time friend of her father. Jessica and Antonio gave themselves a three-year window to make their dream a reality. It didn’t take three years. In fact, the property they noticed, and thought was out of their price range, ended up being the one they bought in a period of a couple months.
Now with a bigger home and five acres, Jessica and Antonio have accomplished the lifestyle they wanted to provide for their growing family and dog. Their next purchase - chickens and goats. Watch out for their fresh farm gate sales including free-range eggs and produce!
“ Our purchase was anything but straight forward. Without Dan’s calm and straight-forward advice, I don’t think we would have sold our home and purchased our dream property so easily. Dan was our voice. He always made himself available for us, knew the market, and answered all our questions – even to this day, he makes time for us. He didn’t miss a beat given a farm is a very different purchase than a house in the city. He knew what to look for given there was a septic system, outbuildings, and the land was situated in a flood plain. ”
Who would have thought that an off-the-cuff recommendation from a friend, when Judy was looking for a REALTOR®, would turn into five house transactions and a lasting friendship 20 years later.
When Judy, and her husband (at the time) wanted a bigger house in Fort Langley, Sue was there to help them and a couple other houses thereafter. When circumstances dictated a sale after a marriage breakup, Sue, with her personable and supportive way, was there for Judy’s transition into a townhouse.
" I wouldn’t consider calling anyone else than Sue, if I found myself wanting to move again. Sue is prepared, she’s a good business person who knows her stuff, she’s dedicated, and if she’s not certain - she’s diligent and truly checks into whatever you asked of her and, most importantly, she gets back to you with an answer!! I truly appreciated her personality and her knowledge of the marketplace to make educated decisions. I leaned on Sue in a difficult period of my life, and she didn’t let me down. I’ve always felt that I was in good hands. When my daughter was going through a divorce last year, she called Sue to help her find a townhome in Maple Ridge. "
Once common place in certain societies, having one’s parents move in with you during their golden years is becoming less and less. Ina remembers the challenges that Sue had over 12 years ago when they asked her to find a Langley home with an in-law suite.
With Ina’s mother passing, followed by the breakup of her marriage in 2016, Ina called upon Sue to assist her in selling the family home, downsizing to a one-bedroom apartment, and finding a retirement home for her father. Sue did not let her down.
" There would be no question whom I would call, or recommend to a friend, if in need of a REALTOR®. Sue took the time to really LISTEN to me so she knew what I wanted - before I did! Through her questions, Sue pinpointed the area best suited to what I needed as a newly, divorced woman. I didn’t just want a new home; I wanted a community that I could get around easily on foot. My life had changed dramatically and Sue was there to reassure me, provide me with the confidence that it would all work out, and to explain the different steps along the way when she sensed I was overwhelmed. It was a very good experience. "
